Four People Shot at Howe Community Park – Unsanctioned Gathering Ends in Shooting
Saturday night, an unlawful gathering of several hundred people at Howe Park in Sacramento's Arden-Arcade neighborhood erupted in gunfire when 20 to 25 gunshots echoed through the area as Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputies were in the process of dispersing the crowd.
The Incident
At around 6:30 PM on April 18, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office was alerted concerning individuals who may have been carrying concealed weapons at the Arden-Arcade park. A second report mentioned a possible altercation and people running from the area.
Aerial units was called in and scanned the park but was unable to locate any physical confrontation.
At the same time, a large crowd had come together at Howe Community Park for what officials called an unauthorized event. Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies surrounded the park, switched on their vehicle lights, and dedicated around 15 minutes commanding the crowd to clear out over their vehicle speakers.
While deputies were dispersing the crowd, between 20 and 25 shots filled the night air — triggering a panicked crowd in every direction.
Victims of the Shooting
Four shooting victims — a female and three male victims, ranging in age through their 20s — were transported to area hospitals. Two were treated for immediate injuries, one was classified with moderate injuries, and one with minor injuries. Each of the four here victims was in stable condition. At the Scene

Suspects
Via scanner Sacramento County Sheriff shooting investigation radio traffic, it was indicated that a related suspect vehicle — identified as a Kia — was stopped in the Solano County area with four detainees. Sacramento County Sheriff's units were heading to Solano County to pick up the suspects and transport them back to Sacramento County. Surveillance footage confirmed the involvement of two shooters.
